JUST IN: TRIBUNAL DISMISSES DR. ARDO's PETITION AGAINST FINTIRI

  Adamawa State Governorship Electoral Petitions Tribunal on Monday, dismissed the petition filed by Dr. Umar Ardo Ardo against Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. The Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party(SDP), Dr. Umar Ardo, his Deputy, Amos Yusuf and SDP filed a petition challenging the governorship election conducted by INEC on the 18th March, 2023. Dr. Ardo, in his petition instituted on the 8th May, 2023 had joined INEC, Fintiri and 16 others as respondents, alleging that the election was not conducted in substantial compliance with the electoral act. The petitioners further alleged that the exercise conducted by the 1st respondent was marred by corrupt practices(bribery), threats and violence and however sought the nullification of the entire exercise. On their part, 1st to 4th respondents, told the tribunal that the petition is statue barred which cannot be entertained by tribunal, alleging that the petition is not supported with evidence and not filed in compliance

TROOPS OF OPERATION UDO KA II CLEARED IPOB/ESN CAMPS... recovers fresh and old corpses

Troops of Joint Task Force South East Operation UDO KA II on Sunday, 1 October 2023 cleared 4 notorious camps of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and it's armed affiliates the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Ihube, Aku and Umulolo in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.  During the clearance operation troops encountered many Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) enroute the camps. However, due to superior firepower, the irredentist fled into neighbouring forests with Gun Shot Wounds. It was discovered that the camps were being used to perpetuate atrocities such as cannibalism, occultic practices and ritual killings to instil fears into the law abiding citizens. These were evident from many fresh and old corpses discovered while clearing the entire camps. PHOTOS: Hoodlums Attack Simon Ekpa's Community, Burn Vehicles

 Hoodlums suspected to be enforcing the sit-at-home order stormed Ezzangbo community, Ebonyi State, the hometown of the self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra Government in Exile, Simon Ekpa, burning three vehicles, five motorcycles, and other valuable items.  It was gathered that the hoodlums, who operated in a Sienna bus and numbering up to eight, equally chased away petty traders and market women who had displayed their goods for sales, chanting, "No more markets in Igbo land."   The inability of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to deliver an inspiring speech to the crowd of supporters that had gathered to hear him speak during Wednesday’s, January 4th rally in Kano shows that he has got nothing to offer. This is according to a statement issued on Thursday, January 5, by Phrank Shaibu, special assistant, public communication to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential flag bearer, Atiku Abubaka  The Atiku camp maintained that in a bid to conceal his inability to deliver a coherent speech, the APC candidate said rather than speak, he would dance instead, quoting him as declaring, ‘Today, I have come home to Kano. All I want to do is dance. I want music.’ The statement added: “Unfortunately, Tinubu’s dance moves proved to be as uncoordinated as his unintelligible speech. The people and the gods rejected him." The statement also warned Governor Wike to be wary of the APC and look after his own health.

 Nigeria’s 2008 long jump silver medalist, Blessing Okagbare, has reacted to the decision of the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) to hand her a 10-year-ban for doping violations.   The 33-year-old, who is also a sprinter, was expelled from the Tokyo Olympics last year before the women’s 100m semi-finals after testing positive for human growth hormone at an out-of-competition test in Slovakia on July 19. I am not condemning those involved. There must be a reason why that culture has become so prolific in Edo state. We must find the root cause and address them as we did in the days of trafficking. Let’s see how we can correct it because these children must be very brilliant. The kind of things they do, how they hack into other people’s accounts. How do we re-direct that thinking into something more positive?”
