Doyin Okupe has finally admitted to receiving
money from the office of the NSA.
Okupe was grilled by the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Sunday, July 17,
over alleged N162million illicit payments to him
and his companies by the office of the NSA.

Following Okupe’s interrogation by the anti-graft
agency, the former special assistant on public
affairs to Goodluck Jonathan publicly revealed
that he received the sum of N100m from the
former NSA.
The former presidential aide in a Facebook post
spoke on his arrest and interrogation by the anti-
graft agency, revealing that got N50m approved
by Jonathan to be paid to him from his security
vote.
He said N10m was given to him to furnish his
rented living apartment and another N10m for his
office. Okupe added that the balance N30m was
approved as take-off grant.
The former aide also disclosed that he got N10m
from the NSA monthly to run his office, and
another disbursement of N50 form the NSA sent
to cover the cost of the running a program on
NTA.
However, Okupe’s disclosure has generated
uproar from some Nigerians who have accused
the former aide of squandering the nation’s
resources.

Others have called for former president, Goodluck
Jonathan to be tried for championing the
embezzling of Nigeria’s resources.

Meanwhile, Doyin Okupe, has reacted to an article
about him posted by blogger Abubakar Sidiq
Usman.
In the article, Usman said Okupe admitted to
collecting more than N100million from the Office
of National Security Adviser(ONSA) when Col.
Sambo Dasuki (retd.) was in charge.
Okupe however thought the blogger was
erroneous and decided to set him straight, but
this happened.
