Read what happend to soldiers in kano

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that
about 37 soldiers were reportedly involved in an
accident along Kano-Gaya road on Friday, July
15.
There were no reports of anybody losing his life
during the incident when a military truck
conveying soldiers was involved in the accident,
but they were said to have been injured.
According to an eye witness, the incident
happened between 8 and 9am while the truck was
traveling to Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.

The sector commander of the Federal Road Safety
Corps (FRSC) in Kano state, Aminu Umar
confirmed the incident, explaining that it
happened when the military truck conveying 36
soldiers led by Major R O Alieze had a break
failure.
He said: “It was our rescue team in Widil that
conveyed the victims to the General Hospital,
Dutse where they are receiving medical attention.”
The FRSC boss however, ruled out the possibility
of any of the soldiers dieing during the incident,
explaining that such reprots were mere rumours.
In another development, reports from a human
right group revealed that at least 1,000 Boko
Haram suspects are being held in terrible
conditions
with about eight dying every month.
However, the Camerounian authority has not
responded to the allegations.
Information has it that almost 500 have died in
the violence this year in Cameroon, which borders
Nigeria where the Boko Haram terrorists are
located. The insurgents frequently carry out
suicide attacks in Cameroon.

Kano university students riot after local life savers failed to save drowning student

Students of Kano State University of Science and Technology, KUST Wudil on Wednesday rioted and barricaded Wudil-Gaya road in Kano State. DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that the riot was sparked by alleged failure of the school authorities to save the life of a drowning student. Thereafter, the students began setting bonfires, vandalising vehicles, buildings and bank facilities. The victim was identified as Farouk Abubakar, a Level 300 student of Biology (Education).
