Another leader of Boko Haram nabbed in politicians house

The Nigerian Army operating under ‘Operation Lafiya Dole’ in Borno and other north-eastern states has arrested one of the most-wanted Boko Haram insurgent in the state.

The chairman was also arrested for hiding the top Boko Haram Commander, whose identity is yet to be revealed, in his house at 1000 housing estate along Maiduguri-Damaturu- Kano road, the Vanguard reports.
The report quoted sources living in the estate as saying the chairman's arrest was not surprising since many of the sect members have fled the Sambisa Forest where they lived for years while carrying out attacks.
The report describes that local government as about 40 kilometres drive from Maiduguri the state's capital.
The report quoted a neighbour of the politician as saying that soldiers and some security operatives stormed the house after an intelligence report that the top Boko Haram commander was with him.
The chairman and the Boko Haram commander are being detained in a military facility for investigation.
The report said the spokesperson of the police, Victor Isuku, could not be reached on phone, that a top security officer confirmed the incident.
“The arrest and capture of the caretaker chairman and the wanted Boko Haram commander took place on Friday night following a tip off,” the source said.

JUST IN: TRIBUNAL DISMISSES DR. ARDO's PETITION AGAINST FINTIRI

  Adamawa State Governorship Electoral Petitions Tribunal on Monday, dismissed the petition filed by Dr. Umar Ardo Ardo against Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. The Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party(SDP), Dr. Umar Ardo, his Deputy, Amos Yusuf and SDP filed a petition challenging the governorship election conducted by INEC on the 18th March, 2023. Dr. Ardo, in his petition instituted on the 8th May, 2023 had joined INEC, Fintiri and 16 others as respondents, alleging that the election was not conducted in substantial compliance with the electoral act. The petitioners further alleged that the exercise conducted by the 1st respondent was marred by corrupt practices(bribery), threats and violence and however sought the nullification of the entire exercise. On their part, 1st to 4th respondents, told the tribunal that the petition is statue barred which cannot be entertained by tribunal, alleging that the petition is not supported with evidence and not filed in compliance

TROOPS OF OPERATION UDO KA II CLEARED IPOB/ESN CAMPS... recovers fresh and old corpses

Troops of Joint Task Force South East Operation UDO KA II on Sunday, 1 October 2023 cleared 4 notorious camps of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and it's armed affiliates the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Ihube, Aku and Umulolo in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.  During the clearance operation troops encountered many Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) enroute the camps.
