4 political events of 2016 that will change 2019

In 2017, the Nigerian political scene will be affected by the many events that occurred in 2016. Positively or negatively, the events of 2016 will have a huge impact on what happens in 2016.
Below are some political events of 2016, that will shape what happens politically in 2017:
1. Ali Modu Sheriff vs Ahmed Makarfi
Ahmed Makarfi and Ali Modu Sherif
One major highlight of 2016 was the battle for the soul of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), between Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi.
While there is an uneasy ceasefire right now, it is clear that in 2017, the political circles will still experience tremors rising from the in-fighting within the PDP.
2. Nasir El-Rufai Vs Shehu Sani
Nasir El-Rufai and Shehu Sani
The political feud between the governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai and Senator Shehu Sani has grown bigger and is bound to get nastier in 2017.
Following his indefinite suspension from the All Progressives Congress (APC), by the Kaduna state chapter of the party, Shehu Sani came hard on El-Rufai, who he accused of masterminding his ousting from the party.
In 2017, the national secretariat of the APC may be forced to step in.

3. DSS vs Judges
Judges arrested by DSS
The raid by the DSS on the federal judges made major headlines in Nigeria, as many argued for and against the raid.
The tremors of the raid is still being felt as some judges have been sacked. Some still argue that the DSS raid on judges was politically motivated.
In 2017, we are likely going to witness the trial of some the judges. And maybe a changed judiciary in all aspects.
4. War among the senators
Dino Melaye
Just when everyone thought peace was returning to the Nigerian senate, after the many battles fought by senators, like Dino Melaye and Remi Tinubu.
Then, senators elected on the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP staged a walk-out over the defection of Senator Yele Omogunwa (PDP, Ondo South) to the APC.
During the walk-out, a new Senate minority leader emerged. It's definitely going to be another long drawn-out war when the Senate resumes in 2017.
