Contrary to ASUU’s claim, I have never received bribe from anyone – JAMB registrar

- The registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has denied all allegations leveled against by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities
- Ishaq Oloyede said he has never collected bribe from anyone
- He also said he only collects greeting cards and not bribes or kickbacks from contarctors as alleged

The current registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Ishaq Oloyede has denied receiving bribe from anybody as claimed by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
Reacting to allegations made in a petition sent to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by ASUU, Oloyede said he has never collected bribe, extorted anyone, inflated contracts nor accepted gifts from any contractor.
He also said he ran a transparent system during his tenure as a vice chancellor of the University of Illorin.
“I am extremely selective in accepting gifts from even personal friends. My needs are limited and my legitimate income is sufficient to spend on my volunteer work,”Oloyede said.
“I have never in my life collected bribe, inflated contracts, extorted anyone nor accepted gifts beyond “Thank You greeting cards” from any contractor, dead or alive.”
Oloyede who was appointed JAMB registrar in August by President Muhammadu Buhari has been accused of accused of various practices.
After his appointment as JAMB's registrar, the ASUU, asked the president to launch an investigation on him.
ASUU claimed that Oloyede’s administration was characterized with anti-democratic and anti-union activities.
The union also accused him and the incumbent vice chancellor of the university Abdulganiy Ambali of committing over N2 billion frauds.
They were also accused of series of involvement in pension fraud, unremitted deductions; extortion from students, contract inflation and kick-backs and unlawful payments to ex-principal officers of the university.

Kano university students riot after local life savers failed to save drowning student
