Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole have gone after Boko Haram terrorist hiding inside forests in a clearance operation that successfully rooted the fleeing terrorists.
In a statement by Brigadier-General Kukasheka Usman, he said the operation was carried out on Saturday, March 11 at Manlumudori, Aridi, Filari, Kingimari, Dinamari, Itari and Mirimari villages.
He said the operation also led to search operations in some villages as the terrorists try to find new haven after they were rooted out of Sambisa forest.

The range of operations are aimed at routing the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists who are seeking refuge in some remote locations in the forests.

One of these operations carried out by troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on Saturday, involved troops of 159 Battalion, 27 Task Force Brigade. Troops of the unit acting on a piece of intelligence, successfully executed a swift operation against suspected Boko Haram terrorists locations at Manlumudori, Aridi, Filari, Kingimari, Dinamari, Itari and Mirimari villages.

The unit further artillery bombardment operations west of Subdu village neutralized the concentration of the Boko Haram terrorists at Bulabulin and Alagarno forests.

The offensive operations later dovetailed into cordon and search operation at Degeltura, Gisum and Popamari villages.

Kano university students riot after local life savers failed to save drowning student

Students of Kano State University of Science and Technology, KUST Wudil on Wednesday rioted and barricaded Wudil-Gaya road in Kano State.
